Suffix ও Prefix কী?
Prefix কী?
কোনো শব্দের শুরুতে এক বা একাধিক letter যোগ করে শব্দের অর্থ বা form পরিবর্তন করা হলে তাকে Prefix
বলে।
Example:
- happy → unhappy
- honest → dishonest
- possible → impossible
- regular → irregular
এখানে un-, dis-, im-, ir- হলো Prefix।
Suffix কী?
কোনো শব্দের শেষে এক বা একাধিক letter যোগ করে নতুন word তৈরি করা হলে তাকে Suffix বলে।
Example:

- teach → teacher
- success → successful
- develop → development
এখানে -ness, -er, -ful, -ment হলো Suffix।

& Prefix করার সহজ কৌশল
Suffix &
Prefix প্রশ্নে শুধু word মুখস্থ করলে সবসময় ভালো করা যায় না। বাক্যের অর্থ ও grammatical position বুঝে answer করতে হবে।
১. Blank-এর আগে-পরে কী আছে দেখুন
যেমন:
He is ___ to
his teachers.
এখানে “is” এবং “to” দেখে adjective প্রয়োজন।
respect →

তাই answer হবে respectful।
২. Negative meaning হলে Prefix খুঁজুন
যেমন:

এখানে in- Prefix যোগ হয়েছে।

যেমন:

৫. বাক্যের অর্থ অবশ্যই বুঝতে হবে
একই root word থেকে একাধিক form তৈরি হতে পারে।
