My dear Tinni,

Thanks a lot for your lovely mail. Hope you are well with your family. I am also well. In your E-mail you are very much keen to know about our country. Now I am giving you a quick explanation of my country.

 

Bangladesh is a small and democratic country.It stands on the Bay of Bengal in Asia. Her land area is 1,47,570 square kilometres, and over 160 million people live here. She came into being in 1971.

 

Bangladesh is a land of rivers.The Padma, the Meghna and the Jamuna are the big and main rivers. Her soil is very soft and fertile and grows rice, jute, sugarcane, tea and other crops. There are six seasons here. Cox’s Bazar is the longest sea-beach in the world and the Sundarbans are the largest mangrove forest in the world. Kazi Nazrul Islam is our National Poet. Ha -du-du is our national game. Her climate is neither hot nor cold. Her culture is also very rich. The Muslims, the Hindus, the Christians and the Buddhists live here together in peace. She is also a land of birds and flowers. People get up from bed by hearing the chirping of birds.
